About me

Hi. My name is Terry Haugvaldstad, and I am a dedicated photographer based in the city of Stavanger, Norway. I have been working full-time as a professional photographer since 2016. My journey in the world of photography began in the realm of real estate photography, alongside assisting in various commercial productions in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the course of three years, I honed my skills by shooting luxury estates and working on dynamic film sets, where I performed tasks ranging from set photography to serving as a digital technician.

Upon returning to Norway, I continued my focus on real estate and architectural photography, but I also began exploring fine art and portraiture. It was during this time that I felt a strong inclination to become an “all in one” photographer, encompassing a broad spectrum of styles. Living in Norway, I developed a deep admiration for nature and wildlife, which led me to some fascinating experiences, such as camping in frigid conditions to capture stunning photographs of musk oxen and elusive arctic foxes. This adventurous hobby quickly grew into a passionate pursuit, taking me far away from the comforting air-conditioned spaces I was accustomed to.

Like many photographers, I found that wedding photography became a significant part of my portfolio. It is an enormous responsibility, one that I have come to cherish. I love embracing the creative freedom it affords me and the positive feedback that I receive from my clients after preserving their special moments. To further enhance my work, I incorporate analog photography to create images that possess a unique sense of depth and emotion that cannot be replicated through any digital camera. Think of it as creating “handmade” photographs—a challenging and labor-intensive process, but deeply satisfying when I see the final results at the end of the day.

I genuinely look forward to the opportunity of working with you in the near future.
